Dear "This is a Christian nation" people: Religion and the Bill of Rights

If you get the time you should check out the Bill of Rights. Don’t worry. It won’t take long. It is the very first line of the very first amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Would you like to guess what “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” means? This is seriously the first line of the first amendment. Am I the only person that caught this? Is it hard to Google search “The Bill of Rights” before you ramble off wacky ideas and poor interpretations of law?

Can you just stop this please? All you do is make intelligent Christians loathe being a Christian. Do you not grasp this? The “God” in “In God We Trust” does not mean the God that you choose. What is written on a dollar bill oddly enough, does not dictate law either.

Sorry to be a dick here. There is no point at all in listening to someone explain to you what “religion” the country that you live in is when that same person cannot take the time to read the first line of the foundation for law in that country.
